Department Overview:

The Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering was introduced in the year 1971. The department offers 3years Diploma course in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation. The objective of the department is to train the students in the multi visionary area of instrumentation covering various areas Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical and Optoelectronics. The students get exposure to Industrial Instrumentation so as to take up responsibilities in various industries as Instrumentation Engineers. The mission of the department is to fulfil the needs of industry by providing trained human resources.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):
  • PEO1: To provide students with a solid foundation in basic science, electrical, electronics, instrumentation and interdisciplinary subjects that is necessary to excel in professional career, entrepreneur and/or higher education.
  • PEO2: To prepare students to meet the needs and face the challenges of real life as well as industry automation and digitalization in terms of technical, economic and social feasibility.
  • PEO3: To inculcate professionalism, communication skills, attitudes, team work and to adapt to the current trends by engaging in lifelong learning.
  • PEO4: To utilize the technology of Applied Electronics & Instrumentation in all relevant fields as per need.

Program Outcomes (POs):
  • PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and basic computer application to the solution of various problems in domestic, industry and medical field.
  • PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, simulate, and analyze various technical problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, sciences, and core engineering.
  • PO3: Design/development of solutions: find solutions for technical problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with taking proper care for the public health, safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4: Modern tool usage: Create platform to, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and advanced engineering and IT tools for prediction and modeling to various engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO5: The engineer and society: Apply rule based engineering knowledge in to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PO6: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • PO7: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

  • PSO1: Apply fundamental knowledge of electronics and instrumentation to analyze, design, and troubleshoot engineering problems.
